Privacy Policy
Last updated July 6, 2026
SwimZone is designed to need as little of your data as possible. You can use the entire site, and check whether it's safe to swim at any monitored lake, pond, or beach, without an account and without giving us anything.
What we collect
- Your email address, only if you join the app waitlist. It's stored and processed by our email provider, Kit (ConvertKit), so we can email you once when the app launches.
- Basic technical logs. Our host, Vercel, records standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to operate and secure the site. We don't use this to identify you.
How your data is used
We do not sell your data, run advertising, or set advertising or tracking cookies. SwimZone is funded by the app and subscriptions, not by ads or lead sales, so there is no advertiser or partner network your information gets passed to. The only thing we do with your email is send you the one launch notification you asked for.
Who processes it
- Kit (ConvertKit): stores waitlist emails and sends the launch notification.
- Vercel: hosts the site and keeps operational logs.
The public data sources we cite (EPA BEACON, EPA CyAN, state health and environmental dashboards, and Open-Meteo) are read-only. We take information from them; we never send them anything about you.
Your choices
- Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe.
- You can ask us to show or delete the data we hold about you (your waitlist email) by writing to hello@swimzone.app.
Children
SwimZone isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
